About Us
Holmes Community is an independent living community designed for adults aged 55 and older, offering comfortable, fully furnished suites at an affordable price. Nestled in a quiet, desirable neighborhood in Charlotte, NC our newly constructed, resort-style community combines cozy comfort with peaceful surroundings.
Founded in September 2023 by author Kevin Holmes, Holmes Community was inspired by personal experience. As Kevin’s father grew older, maintaining independence at home became increasingly difficult, with challenges like managing stairs, upkeep, and rising living costs. Like many older adults on a fixed income, Kevin’s father found the high costs of traditional active adult communities or independent communities overwhelming. Kevin saw first firsthand how the steep costs of active adult living communities could be prohibitive for many on a fixed income.
Motivated by a desire to create an affordable, welcoming space for older adults, Kevin founded Holmes Community—an accessible independent living option that relieves the financial strain of costly alternatives. Our fully furnished suites and thoughtful amenities make the transition to independent living easy and stress-free for the 55+ community.
At Holmes Community, we provide affordable yet stylish resort-style accommodations that feel like home. Each spacious suite includes a private bathroom with essential amenities, and is furnished with full-size beds, dressers, and nightstands ideal for independent seniors. Ample storage is provided with large closets and safes for valuables. Residents can enjoy a 55-inch TV and complimentary high-speed internet for streaming favorite shows and movies in the comfort of their own suites. Whether you prefer a cooler or warmer environment, our remote-controlled ventilation is at your fingertips.
We offer a range of suite options to fit your lifestyle: choose a suite with a furnished, screened-in patio, a balcony with scenic views of the property, or a larger bathroom for extra convenience. No matter your preference, the perfect suite is waiting for you.
For those who enjoy cooking, our fully equipped shared kitchen has everything you need—from large pots and pans to an air fryer and utensils. Personal refrigerators make it easy to store leftovers. Coffee lovers can start the day at our coffee bar, featuring a Keurig and an assortment of brews and teas to suit any taste, perfect for sipping in the living room, dining room or outside on the deck.
